Alfagomma – Oil & Marine Ortona

In 2023, the Alfagomma Group, a global leader in the production of fluid handling systems for the industrial, hydraulic and petrochemical sectors, embarked on a major relaunch of the historic Alfagomma Oil & Marine plant in Ortona.

The objective was clear: to bring the production site back to full operation, bringing it up to the highest quality and technological standards required by the Oil & Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical industries. To do this, the company chose Quantum as its sole technical partner for the complete redevelopment of the lighting system.

The Ortona site deals with the design and production of very high-performance rubber hoses for extreme applications, such as offshore use. These are components that must withstand salt spray, wave motion and very high mechanical stresses. In this context, lighting quality is crucial to ensure precision, safety and visual control during all stages of processing, testing and assembly.

Quantum started the project from an in-depth technical study of the plant’s current state. This analysis resulted in a tailor-made redevelopment plan, designed to effectively meet both functional and energy sustainability objectives.

The intervention included:

• the complete replacement of luminaires with high-efficiency, long-life solutions;
• theinstallation of intelligent systems to control and monitor consumption, capable of adapting light to actual operational needs, thus reducing waste;
• a substantial improvement in visual comfort for all operators, enhancing productivity and safety at work.

The installed lighting now allows Alfagomma Oil & Marine to monitor plant performance in real time, plan predictive maintenance operations and significantly reduce energy costs, contributing to the achievement of the Group’s sustainability goals.
