Berco – Copparo Plant

In 2018, Berco S.p.A., a historic leader in the production of components for earth-moving machinery, chose Quantum as its technical partner for an in-depth lighting redevelopment at its Copparo (FE) plant, one of the most important in Europe in terms of size and operational complexity.

The intervention concerned strategic production departments, particularly those intended for heavy stamping using large presses, areas with non-standard heights and continuous handling of overhead cranes. Environments of this type represent a real challenge in terms of design, both in terms of operational safety and the need to maintain high levels of uniform illuminance over large areas.

The project developed by Quantum involved the installation of high-power LED luminaires, designed to withstand harsh conditions and able to offer excellent light output even at high altitudes, ensuring optimal visibility at all critical points of the plant. Thanks to the dimming technology, it was also possible to adapt the light to the real needs of the work, further improving overall efficiency.

The intervention led to an estimated energy saving of 77% compared to the previous situation, without compromising the quality of the lighting in any way, and on the contrary contributing to a significant improvement invisual ergonomics and safety in the workplace. The optimisation of the lighting in the departments has favoured more comfortable working conditions, also having a positive impact on productivity and the reduction of errors. A concrete example of how even in extreme industrial contexts, thanks to advanced lighting design and the latest LED technologies, it is possible to achieve maximum efficiency, safety and quality without compromise.
