Heavy Transports S.r.l. – Piadena

In 2019, Trasporti Pesanti S.r.l., a nationwide reference in the exceptional transport of steel products, chose Quantum for a major energy requalification project at its plant in Piadena (CR). The objective was clear: to improve the lighting efficiency of the entire lighting system while reducing operating and environmental costs, without compromising quality, safety and functionality.

The operational context of logistics requires flexible, high-performance solutions capable of adapting to dynamic spaces and variable production cycles. Mixed movement of people and vehicles, division into operational areas subject to continuous change, targeted and modulated lighting according to actual needs: all this was taken into account in the design of the intervention.

Quantum adopted a systemic approach to the intervention, starting with an in-depth analysis of the lighting requirements. The existing installation was completely replaced with a new system based on high-efficiency LED lamps, all equipped with dimming to automatically adapt to the presence of natural light and actual workflows.

At the heart of the system is aplug & play management architecture that enables the timely monitoring of consumption, switching hours and the operational status of each lighting point. The possibility of integrating presence and daylight sensors, as well as support for open, interoperable protocols, now allows the company to manage and optimise lighting in real time, transforming the system into a true digital asset.

The resulting lighting infrastructure is prepared to evolve: thanks to compatibility with IoT platforms and data-driven solutions, it can serve as the basis for advanced services such as asset tracking, heat maps or predictive maintenance analysis.

The benefits are concrete and measurable: with an average use of around 4,000 hours per year, the intervention ensured energy savings estimated at around 80%, with significant positive effects on operating costs and environmental impact.
