Iveco Defence Vehicles – IDV Bolzano project

In 2023, Quantum was chosen by IDV – Iveco Defence Vehicles S.p.A., an Iveco Group company specialising in the production of vehicles for defence and civil protection, as technical partner for a major energy efficiency operation at its Bolzano production site.

The project stemmed from IDV’s desire to embark on a concrete path towards greater environmental sustainability by intervening on a key element for comfort, safety and production efficiency: lighting.

Quantum managed the entire redevelopment on a turnkey basis, taking care of the design, supply, installation and final acceptance. The project involved 11 industrial buildings, including warehouses, welding and assembly departments, and areas for IDV test stands.

Over 1,100 latest-generation LED luminaires were installed, selected to guarantee high lighting performance, durability and energy savings. The products used were supplied by Detas Dleds and Cree Lighting, two leading companies internationally recognised for their technological excellence in the field of professional lighting.

One of the distinctive aspects of the project was the speed of execution. The entire process, from take-over (July 2023) to the handover of the operational plant (mid-October 2023), took place in just three months, including the installation phase which took place between August and September. This result was achieved thanks to Quantum’s ability to effectively plan and coordinate every operational phase, even in complex industrial contexts.

In addition to the technical aspect, the project allowed IDV to:

• achieve a significant reduction in energy consumption;
• improve the quality of lighting in different working environments;
• increase the visual comfort of operators, with a direct impact on efficiency, safety and production quality.

The intervention at IDV Bolzano represents a new milestone for Quantum: a concrete testimony of our ability to offer tailor-made lighting solutions, combining technology, sustainability and speed of operation even in high-profile strategic realities.
