Valvitalia – Vicenza Project

Valvitalia S.p.A., a leading Italian company in the design and production of components for the energy industry – valves, actuators, control and safety systems – has confirmed its strategy of sustainability and innovation by once again relying on Quantum for the lighting redevelopment of its Vicenza plant.

The project, to be completed in 2024, represents a new stage in the strategic collaboration between the two companies, which has already been consolidated through previous interventions on other Group production sites.

Objectives

The main objectives of the intervention were to reduce energy consumption, improve lighting conditions in the working environment, and integrate a lighting management system that complies with the most advanced standards of efficiency and operational flexibility.

The solutions

The intervention started with adetailed technical analysis of the plant’sactual state, with a precise survey of the illuminance levels, type of bodies installed, operating hours and specific requirements of the different production areas. On the basis of the data collected, a customised lighting design was developed, able to guarantee maximum lighting uniformity and compliance with the parameters required by the regulations in force for the industrial sector.

The installation involved replacing the existing luminaires with new high-efficiency LED luminaires equipped with Quantum’s proprietary QLight™ system, designed for intelligent light management. The system allows the light intensity to be programmed according to customised operating scenarios, optimising consumption and adapting the light to the actual usage needs in each area of the plant.

Results

Among the main benefits found downstream of the intervention:

• Significant reduction in annual electricity consumption for lighting;
• Lower operating and maintenance costs due to the longer life of the installed LED bodies;
• Increased visual comfort for technical and operational staff;
• Improved corporate image, thanks to better-lit spaces perceived as safer, more modern and efficient.
