Rhenus – Calderara di Reno Project

The lighting retrofit project carried out at the Rhenus site in Calderara di Reno involved the entire logistics complex, including storage areas, warehouses, goods-handling zones, and outdoor spaces.

The initiative stemmed from the Group’s goal to reduce energy consumption while improving the quality and effectiveness of lighting in environments characterized by intense operational activity and continuous movement of vehicles and personnel.

Quantum performed a comprehensive technical survey of the existing installation, identifying critical areas in terms of light uniformity, safety, and efficiency. Based on this analysis, a customized lighting solution was developed using state-of-the-art LED fixtures, specifically selected to ensure high performance and long-term reliability.

The new system was integrated with motion and luminance sensors, allowing automatic adjustment of light levels according to actual operating conditions and personnel presence. This smart approach helped eliminate energy waste while maintaining optimal, uniform, and comfortable lighting at all times.

Thanks to the new lighting system, Rhenus now benefits from a safer and more functional working environment, achieving significant energy savings and a substantial reduction in maintenance costs. This intervention perfectly aligns with the Group’s long-term sustainability and innovation strategy, which focuses on enhancing the efficiency of its logistics sites across Europe.
