Cree LED, a long-standing partner of Quantum, has recently launched two new products: the XLamp® Element G (XE-G) and Photophyll™ Select LEDs. These two items, created to meet particular market needs, are intended for architectural and horticultural lighting.

In the architectural lighting sector, there had long been a demand for colour LEDs with a higher output and it was in response to these requirements that Cree LED developed the XLamp Element G (XE-G) LED. The product has a much higher light output and density than its predecessors, while also offering the widest range of spectral choices.

Some applications of XE-G LEDs are obvious, such as outdoor architectural lighting, emergency vehicle lighting, and the automotive aftermarket. However, they can also be used in less obvious ways, for example for indoor directional lighting or human-centred lighting.

For horticultural lighting, however, efficiency and colour spectrum are paramount. For this reason, Cree LED has created the new Photophyll Select, the first fully optimised colour LED for 2-channel horticultural lighting. The Photo Red product is designed to replace the white LED common in two-channel white + red luminaires.

Compared to competitors, Photophyll Select LEDs are able to precisely control the green/blue ratio and can be used in greenhouses and vertical crops.

These innovations fully demonstrate Cree LED’s ongoing efforts to push the boundaries of LED technology and its commitment to lead the industry with best-in-class technology, quality and performance.
